Everyone did a great job with their roles. This inspires him to step up and help Billy train and get back into shape for the upcoming fight. I am more than happy to say that this is one of the best boxing films I have seen. He gives the somewhat typical performance as a punch drunk boxer and that gets a little irritating at times, but it's clear that he put everything he had into this role. In order to gain back his daughter and restart his life, he seeks out a particular trainer, Tick Wills (Forest Whitaker).

The cast was excellent and everyone excelled in their roles. Billy says Maureen would be proud of her and she tells him she loves him as they continue to embrace.
